The “MID – Measuring Instruments Directive” certification, issued to MeteRSit by the Dutch NMi, certifies the accuracy and reliability of the Domusnext® 2.0 MMU6 H2
Padua, 22 November 2021 – SIT, a multinational listed on Euronext Milan segment that creates intelligent solutions for the control of environmental conditions and consumption measurement, has obtained, through the subsidiary MeteRSit, the “MID – Measuring Instrument Directive” certification for the Domusnext® 2.0 MMU6 H2 residential meter that is 100% hydrogen compatible. The certification, issued by the notified body NMi Certin B.V., is valid in Europe and the UK, as well as other, non-EU countries, and guarantees the accuracy and reliability of the measuring instrument (the meter).
The Domusnext® 2.0 MMU6 H2 meter model produced by MeteRSit – the first in the world to obtain the MID certification – was developed within the British government program “Hy4Heat”, in collaboration with BEIS – Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy. It is also the same model that was installed in the 100% hydrogen-powered houses built in Gateshead, in the north of England, and the same that was exhibited at the COP26 conference in Glasgow, at the BEIS stand.
“After the satisfaction of seeing our products installed in the hydrogen houses in the UK and exhibited at COP26, we are proud to obtain this certification for our 100% hydrogen meter which allows us to move from a test phase to a production phase” declared Federico de’ Stefani, Chairman and CEO of SIT group. “This step is part of the process, started in 2018, that has seen SIT assuming a central role in the hydrogen economy. We are, in fact, convinced that hydrogen can be a great ally in decarbonising the atmosphere, replacing natural gas even for residential uses. In the hydrogen supply chain, residential use is, in fact, the only one ready to be employed. In this sense, SIT is ready with certified products which, once the generation and transport of hydrogen become available, will make it possible to use this alternative gas, in full compliance with our corporate and sustainability mission“.
